I'm really looking forward to @aiDotEngineer CODE in New York this week. If you'll be there and want to hang out and talk about voice agents, realtime video AI, agent design patterns, or building AI agents with AI code generation, let me know!
The AI Engineer events are always great. Great content, great people, great hallway track, great evening events that people host around the edges of the conference.
I was telling someone how much growth we've seen on Pipecat Cloud since the summer, and looking back at the talk I did about Pipecat Cloud at AIE World's Fair in June.
The basic description of why we built a "Docker push for open source voice agents" actually is still very current. But we've seen so, so much interesting expansion in use cases.
Lots of great contact center, outbound dialing, and answering the phone for small business use cases, of course. But also, long-running conversational experiences like user research, consulting interviews, recruiting and job interviews. Embedded hardware use cases like the open source projects that @_pion and @thorwebdev have been hacking on. Games and new interactive media like what our friends at @andthenchat are building. We added video compute profiles to support screen sharing and video avatar builders.

And if you haven't seen the incredible video PALs from @tavus, you should read this thread (these are not running on Pipecat Cloud, but what this team has built is amazing and I love this direction and technical foundation) ...

The interface of the future is human.
We’ve raised a $40M Series B from CRV, Scale, Sequoia, and YC to teach machines the art of being human, so that using a computer feels like talking to a friend or a coworker.
And today, I’m excited for y’all to meet the PALs: a new
